BPSCA Service Dog of the Year Application

Application to compete in the BPSCA Dog Trials is open to both Full and Associate Members.  Priority will be given to serving dog teams from the respective uniformed public services who are Full Members of the Association.  Positions for Associate Members will be granted entry on a first come first served basis subject to approval.  All applicants are to be confident that they can carry out the Schedule of Tests in a safe manner.  Non-members wishing to compete must first apply for membership to the Association, and if successful, then apply to compete in the trials.

All applications must be received before the 7th of June, 2016. No late entries will be accepted.

All Teams are to comply with every aspect of the Dress and Equipment Regulations. This document is displayed at www.bpsca.net/sdoty-regs and is attached with the Schedule of Tests.

The Trials Manager may disqualify any team that is considered unsuitably attired or is found to be using unauthorised equipment. The Veterinary Officer may disqualify dogs who are considered unfit to compete or are found to be in poor or unkempt condition. Bitches in season are not permitted to compete.

Certificate of Indemnity

I (name) certify that, my dog (name) (microchip number) of (Unit or Club) is right arm true and fully capable of safely carrying out all the tasks laid down in the Schedule of Tests for Service Dog of the Year & Working Dog of the Year Trials.

The dog will be under my full control at all times, I accept that any accident or damage caused by him/her will be deemed to be my full and sole responsibility.

I am aware of the BPSCA policy on the use of electric shock collars and pinch or prong collars, at no time has my dog been trained using such equipment. I understand that competitors will be immediately disqualified from the competition if they are found to be in breach of the BPSCA Constitution and the Association policy on the use of such equipment.

Further to the declaration, I have no objections to any of my personal particulars which are shown on this form being made public.
